Earlier this year, Thorgills were approached to sponsor the annual White Collar Boxing event at The Park Club, W3. With the aim of raising over £20,000 for the NSPCC, we simply couldn't turn it down and so we agreed to be the headline sponsor of what promised to be an incredible evening.
On the night, sixteen Park Club and Hogarth members entered the ring for three, two minute rounds of boxing. Having undergone an intense three month training regime under the resident boxing coaches, they all contributed massively to what was a memorable evening.
On Saturday 19th March, with a host of celebrity names in attendance, including Sky Sports Jonny Nelson & Adam Smith, as well as George Groves, Anthony Crolla, Glenn McCrory and Eastenders Jake Wood, along with just under 1500 friends, family and other guests, the event was a sell-out. From the first to the last fight, it was edge of your seat action and our compère for the evening, Adrian Chiles ran out of superlatives for each of the brave boxers. Our very own sponsored fighter rounded off the evening with a judges scorecard victory in what was an epic battle.
Once the gloves were off, the fighters joined their friends and families and had a few well-earned beverages. It didn't take too long to realise that the evening was a roaring success and that the target we set out to achieve for this brilliant charity would be met. The event could not have been such a success without the amazing team at The Park Club, the sixteen fighters, the friends and family that joined on the evening and of course, our very own team members who were on hand to assist throughout the entire process.
Thorgills are always interested in hearing about any worthy causes that require assistance and whilst we cannot guarantee to help each time, we will endeavour to offer some value.
